Johnny Hughes Community Center

The community center, once Geneva County High School, was renovated to house the city court and council chambers, various community and government offices, the public library and a large community room that can be rented to host family reunions, parties, civic functions, etc.  Just inside the entrance is a mural depicting scenes of Hartford's history.  If walls could talk, then the mural inside the Community Center would tell the history and culture of Hartford, a town built from the early industries of timber and turpentine, along with the railroad, churches, mills, businesses, people and farming life that have remained a backdrop since the town’s establishment.
